Year 4 – Visit to Suntrap Forest Education Centre - High Beach.
Our Geography topic has been maps, co-ordinates and compass skills, and as part of this exciting topic we have the wonderful opportunity to visit Suntrap.
On Tuesday 2nd June, we will be visiting Suntrap. We will be leaving at 9.15am and will return around 2.30pm. The cost of the trip will be £17.50 per child. Please complete the tear-off permission slip below and send it in to the school office. Payment is to be made on ParentPay, no later than Friday 22nd May 2015
The session will take place in the forest and also in the classroom. The children will learn geographical skills and fieldwork including using the 8 points of a compass and 4 figure and references. The outdoor learning will also support children’s understanding of risk management and decision making. We also intend to take the children back into the forest for a walk after lunch and return to school by coach at around 2.30ish.
We will lunch there so please provide your child with a sensible packed lunch for that day. No glass bottles or cans. If your child is entitled to a free school meal and would like the school kitchen to provide a packed lunch, please inform the office 3 days prior to the visit.
Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the forest, and the weather, with suitable footwear and clothing, including sun cream if needed.
