We had a spelling test today on words children have learnt for spellings in the last few weeks. They are words or spelling patterns children need to learn in Year 3.
As spelling now counts towards children’s writing results, we have stuck their tests into their homework books so that if you get some time over Easter you could help your child learn some of them. If your child got a lot wrong, just focus on a couple of word groups.
The words are:
Un prefix – unlucky, undressed, unpack, etc
Re prefix – rewind, return, replace, etc
Pre prefix – prevent, predict, etc
Ch making k sound – school, ache, chemist, Christmas, etc
Ture making ch sound – picture, future, captured, etc
Sure making zh sound – treasure, measure, etc
Year 3 curriculum words – century, history, ordinary, popular, guards
