Dear Parent/Carer
Y5 Trip to Hackney City Farm
As part of our D&T topic, ‘Food & Where it comes from’ we will be going on an educational visit to the Hackney City Farm on Thursday 11th February 2016.
The children will be travelling by public transport, leaving at 09.15 and returning to school by 3.25pm. The cost of the trip will be £1.70 per child; this covers the cost of the Growing Food Workshop. This is to be paid online on ParentPay, if you need to pay at a paypoint, please see school office. Please see me if this payment creates difficulties.
Children need to wear school uniform and wellington boots/old trainers and to have a suitable waterproof coat. We will have our lunch at the farm, therefore the children will require a packed lunch and a drink. Also a drink for mid-morning. (Please do not send in any glass bottles or cans). If your child is entitled to a free school meal and you would like the kitchen to provide a packed lunch please inform the school office 3 days prior to the trip. The children do not need any money on the trip.
Parent helpers are always an important part of a trip. Unfortunately due to restrictions within the space we are only allowed a limited number of adults. If you are available and would like to help, please complete the attached slip and I will confirm if your help will be required by Friday 29th January.
Please ensure that all slips are returned by Wednesday 27th January 2016 and that payment has been made.
Yours faithfully
